I got bored and started to elaborate a plan to conquer the world through the FMCG market. yay hooray.
More likely, how I think/believe/want to believe the market will look in a few years
In terms of production
now :
- local goods (produced in-country)
- imported products
– local companies (average -> good quality, affordable prices)
– international companies (good and even better quality, high prices)
then
- shifting to acquisitions
- more green-field operations (I do hope so, for the sake of more advertising)
In terms of sales channels
Now
- retail key accounts
- hard discount stores
- hypermarkets + supermarkets
- cash& carry
- open market
- wholesalers
- food stores (?)
then
- RKA fast development by new retail chains (tesco-like)
- less small stores, wholesalers, kiosks etc
In terms of PRODUCTS!!1oneone
Now
- some new products
- increasing competitiveness
- already-branded-products products development
then
- even more new products
- high quality products (branded) getting the attention and demand they always wanted
- more competition
and in terms of CONSUMERS <3
now
- low purchase power (i think it said somewhere that only 10% of consumers have high income)
- Increased consumer awareness on brands, quality, value for money
- influenced by advertising
then
- increased purchase power
- changing from low end products to quality
- more brand education, more demanding consumers. educated too
- ads make the difference
now please don’t ask why I want to work in advertising 😀
ps: fmcg because I didn’t have any other kind of data 🙂
