now vs. the future

I got bored and started to elaborate a plan to conquer the world through the FMCG market. yay hooray.

More likely, how I think/believe/want to believe the market will look in a few years

In terms of production
now :

  1. local goods (produced in-country)
  2. – local companies (average -> good quality, affordable prices)
    – international companies (good and even better quality, high prices)

  3. imported products

then

  1. shifting to acquisitions
  2. more green-field operations (I do hope so, for the sake of more advertising)

In terms of sales channels
Now

  1. retail key accounts
  2. hard discount stores
  3. hypermarkets + supermarkets
  4. cash& carry
  5. open market
  6. wholesalers
  7. food stores (?)

then

  1. RKA fast development by new retail chains (tesco-like)
  2. less small stores, wholesalers, kiosks etc

In terms of PRODUCTS!!1oneone
Now

  1. some new products
  2. increasing competitiveness
  3. already-branded-products products development

then

  1. even more new products
  2. high quality products (branded) getting the attention and demand they always wanted
  3. more competition

and in terms of CONSUMERS <3
now

  1. low purchase power (i think it said somewhere that only 10% of consumers have high income)
  2. Increased consumer awareness on brands, quality, value for money
  3. influenced by advertising

then

  1. increased purchase power
  2. changing from low end products to quality
  3. more brand education, more demanding consumers. educated too
  4. ads make the difference

now please don’t ask why I want to work in advertising 😀
ps: fmcg because I didn’t have any other kind of data 🙂
